EMO

Emotional.

Your brain has slots for chemicals to fit into. Emotions are simply that, chemicals fitting into slots. Anger, happiness, fear. These chemicals when combined from the video from our eyes, the audio from our ears, the sensations from our sense of touch, smell and taste, as well as instantly combining in our memories of past events and humans ability to imagine the future and consequences. Memories and experiences.

What separates Humans from Machines is emotions. If only we were able to build a computer that could mimic the human brain in it's abilities. Cameras for eyes, microphones for ears, speakers for speech, sensors for touch, detectors for smell and taste. Very fast memory retrieval. The ability to analyze that stored memory and make predictions with it. Would it truly need to have chemicals that produce emotions? Would it not be able to look at a flower and see beauty, or understand why ordered written music sounds good to humans as opposed to random notes randomly dispersed?

Would it not be able to see the value of existing over not existing? Would it cherish life and it's own life without emotions? Could it think about not existing anymore? It seems to be such an abstract concept. To think about not being able to think anymore.

Maybe what we need is a bad ass computer program for our machine that is capable of combining audio, video, and data from the sensors mixed with cross examining that data from past event memory and future event memory. I mean we do have future event memory inside our human brains. We can set long term goals, plan for an upcoming holiday or impending task.

Could it not be possible to program in emotions into our machine at this point?
